Solo Mode?

Postby XT3 » 03.12.2013, 23:10

I've been thinking is it possible to have a Solo mod of RPG Maps? Like using short Mni RPGs with objects etc mods and each set getting harder and hard, new tricks etc? I just thought of these and im not sure how to do it but i know its possible. :D ANy thoughts on the White to Black levels? Who would make them and who would decide what ones to use?
So check out what has been put together! :D

ALSO! for those who wants to make a track pick one below that isn't claimed and tell use n the forum. I'll mark who claimed what. Another thing to note the mod used in each levels. Please use that mod as suggested by eie. Its a clever way to show the player that they are getting some where. Last and not least black levels can not be claimed as I believe we should finish the level before that before we make them.

[s]ONE LAST THING you can make a max of THREE MAPS![/s] Pick one from below if its not already Claimed.

Can you give a link of one of the finished maps

I support this idea. Especially with a lot of newcomers to RPG, it would be nice to help them learn the tricks of RPG.

White could be wallrides, black could be pipes?

I thought that White would show all the main tricks, Antibooster drifting, Wallriding, and pipes. ;) So Black would be like 5 minute RPGs at max. ALso i pitured the Solo mode to use all sorts of track mods, like each has a different name like A1: Oceans Currents a track of anti booster drifting with the UnderTheSeas mod that i almost have fully converted. :D

I think if there is a Solo Mode, it should be driving tutorials only. After all, players should be encouraged to play online (at least in my opinion).

Going outside of the building area. That has been done before. and it does happen. Som objects and be place slightly outside of the area of building.

Wow we keep coming up with lots of ideas! I got another. its easy and simple using the loop start and driving up to hit a slanted flatform that force down onto a flat platform neer the top. I got a second one. hitting the was up at a slant. and you flat into the air to land on the top of the raised jump platform that well normally use to get onto raised water with.

what about wallbangs? how to do em fast and stuff. also how to do a wallbang with 2 blocks instead of one.
(look at sugar rush by onicole if you don't understand the last one)

also i wouldn't mind helping but the problem is i learned all of them myself and i have no idea if i'm actually doing it right

wallbang is one of the most common things you can find in an RPG. you'll 99% sure know what it is but you'll just call it differently.

wich brings me to another 'problem' the names. i'm sure not everybody calls everything the same way. how are we gonna solve that?

Not sure how the tutorial could look like but maybe something with the "variaton 16" blocks, I was pretty astonished when I first found out about them :D
Also driving backwards to get over obstacles and (I'm not sure if it is still possible in TM

What is the variation 16 blocks?

I don't think there are a lot of tricks with many names, although no wories, they still all look the same, and there's no reason not to use more names?

How many maps would we need for each difficulty?

The titlepack is for TM2 only, so yeah, this will be for TM2.

I think 5 tracks per trick is too much. You won't need that many tracks to learn a wallbang. 5 tricks per map would be nice if it's the same trick. Mixing different tricks might work on some track(black difficulty?) but for the sake of learning a trick, only one at a time would be best I think.

When you set (in CE) the "Variation 2" of blocks to 16, their bootom changes to grass-type so you can drive beneath them. I think they should be introduced so beginners will learn to spot hidden paths using these blocks, there are many tracks with them

True as they are used a lot but we cant do that. At least with CE you could Map edit no longer works due to an update. So I don't think that could be added without importing the track from TMN.

Yep I agree with you! makes snse. teach them the different kinds of Wall jumps/wall Bangs. Like it could be called: A3 Banged Up Wall

I made a draft list of the track types, what do you think of it? anything missing? anything should be placed in another difficulty?

White:
Intro map.
Forward pipe.
jumping/dropping.
backwards driving.
airbraking

Green:
Normal pipe turning.
wallrides against a wall.
narrow roads.
pathfinding.
wallbanging.

Blue:
Pipe turning with vertical pipe obstacle.
jumping/dropping from narrow road to platform.
booster drifting.
easy turtling.
advanced pathfinding.

Red:
Pipe dropping.
jumping/dropping from narrow roads to to narrow road.
wallrides and getting on a wallride. (Not sure if possible in TM2?)
hard turtling.

Black:
Mix of all stunts.
