How to create a water-block?

Postby Florenius » 09.06.2015, 04:41

Hey there,

I saw in RPG the water-blocks. I want to create a big block like this but can't find the material. Only in Vakkey "Lake", but that is the underground of the water.

How to create? :)

Thanks,
Florenzius

Go to location where you extracted Nadeo Importer and find and open file NadeoImporterMaterialLib.txt.
Than locate DLibrary(Valley) line and under it make some free lines and add this text:
DMaterial(Water)
DSurfaceId (Water)

Save file and now you should be able to use this this water material as in-game material in your mesh-param xml file.

I use Blender. Must the material call "Water" or "DSurfaceID" or "DMaterial"? I'm a noob in this theme^^

Need i a lightmap or basematerial?

Surface is the block physik , example metal , dirt gras and sand (island) or notcollidable
Material is the texture > waterphysik doen't work in stadium , in valley idk

DSurfaceId (NotCollidable)
DMaterial (Water)

You need 1 UV Map - LightMap

Name of the material in blender should be Water or sth if edit your xml , use the default ^^

I have some problem: The car is in the ugliest resolution if you look at it and it's in the water.

Look here:

not only in the night, in the day too. I don't created a light-map. It's not needed.

How to make it better?

You need Uv-Maps ...
water , dirt and gras need only the lightmap
add a singleface and use a transparency space from StadiumDirtGrid (StadiumFence)
this materials needs another material for shadowcalculate , without game crashed :P
