physichs looks cool, just hope it doesn't drift when you just turn even at 2 kmh, and that its not a keyboard killer car :(

I also think that it doesn't really look like sliding is going to be a very big problem, maybe like a mix of stadium and coast, but what do I know ^_^

I go next month to Gamescom here in Germany and wanna have a look at the editor ;) i really hope i can see Maniascript too ( I think Maniascript in Stadium would make RPG perfect xD)

eie I just play TMN ESWC because thats trackmania for me, I played it for more than 3 years so I stuck to it forever

@mario - maniascript is never going to be available in stadium :P

@shorty - I played Nations ESWC too, but it's just awful for RPG, with no chance of spawning and no good platform block :p but it was great while it lasted ^^

Yeah I'll admit the limitations of blocks in TMN really made some awesome tracks ^^ They don't make tracks like that anymore :P

There are good tracks in Forever too, but they are rarer, and harder to discover...

I builded a Trial Track in Canyon, but there seems to be a bug with make a vid, so it could take a while until u can see it and what is possible for rpg/trial players, but i

Okay here's my prediction for RPG in Canyon: There will be none!
Even though the setting would make for some great adventure tracks and some of the blocks would be well suited for RPG, the handling of the car is really a killer. The car can not move on the spot...you first have to accelerate a bit and drift to turn. Slowing down the car takes very long, unlike in Stadium. It is very heavy, so crazy stunts in the air are not possible because the car immediately falls down. Also when landing after a jump there is a high probability that the car will flip over itself if the car wasn't aligned perfectly horizontal. So bumpy stunts are very difficult too.
Blocks: Some of the blocks would be well suited. But they are most often way too rich in detail, having all sorts of polygons that distract. Also small transition pieces or other small pieces like in stadium are mostly absent. Maybe later when block import is enabled this will make some RPG's possible...
I'm actually very disappointed with the editor. I thought there would be much more possibilities to make something creative. I'm probably not going to build any tracks as it stands now.

But modding is still quite fun. Got this result after 30min of fiddling:

Well imo you are not in all points right.

Its right that the car slow down really slow. But curves are very good to drive with the drift, ofc it is not like in stadium, it is other and need some practise and train.

But i think too that Canyon isnt a very good RPG/Trial Envi.
There are not enough things u can do. After some weeks of building there wont be anything new and it goes boring. (looking forward to blockimport)

Another thing: the mapsize is actually very high. My Trial without scennery and just the tricks has a size of 752kb. and i builded just like on 30% of the editor size. That could have some negative effect on tmx or smth like that if there will be a maximum of tracksize (like 1 mb).

Well, i am tired^^ i write more next week :D

Yep when I think about it mapsize is my biggest concern. Even if the third environment turns out to be ideal for RPG it could still very well be that there will be no RPG because the mapsize is 30mb or what not...
Also, I think it's impossible to make closed rooms because everything would be dark. The lightning in TMU wasn't realistic, that's why it wasn't dark...but in TM2 ofc everything must be realistic...
