The tutorial about Blender gives the maximum size of a car model as -1.5 < x < 1.5, -3 < y < 3, -0.2 <z < 2.5. Are the units the same in 3ds max? What is the size of a standard (6-2-1, whatever that means) block in those units?

I don't know the answer of your question, but can help here ;)

I have the (6-2-1) block car skin.
you just have to paste your texture on it.
it goes like this:

***********************************************
Detail.dds = sides of the block (stadiumcircuitD)
***you have to resize to an half ( 50% )

Diffuse.dds = top & bottom (stadiumPlatformD & stadiumWarpAuvent2D)

***********************************************
here's the skin

download car skin block 6-2-1

PS:you can even add a sound fx to the block by using "horn.ogg" ;)
so when they open they make a sound too !!!
I have already add a "big door opening sound".(horn)

What I really want is a very big model composed of several of these blocks joined together to make large moving walls. Is there anywhere I can download a 3ds file for something with the same size as a 6-2-1 block? That should help.

the size depends on what units you select in 3ds max. usually the 6-2-1 block is 32 x 32 x 8 units (much bigger than max vehicle size).

@dose: please don't remove the readme.txt of the model in your zip...
