Hey there RPG maniacs...

I'm gonna buy a new computer on next week and I need your opinion...

My current computer is this one:
@ Acer Aspire 5051AWXMi
@ AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK36 (2.0 GHz, 512KB L2 cache)
@ 14.1" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD
With this computer I can't play tracks with more then 9k or 10k cc's, I mean, I can but with a lot of lag :S with the shader quality in PC1... If I try to play in PC2, 2k cc's is enough to have a f**king lag! :wacko:

I want to play big RPG's like the most recente from Pomaxer, Karishia II with 18k cc's... 8| And with shader quality in PC2 it would be awesome...
Do you think this Compaq is good to play big RPG's without lag? And with the shader quality in PC2 or PC3?

I didn't tried to open Karishia because it may shut down my computer... ;(
Oh... And I won't buy a computer for more than 700

Compaq is for noobs

I would go for an intel/nvidia driven Asus or Samsung laptop.. see if you can find something from these brands they have excellent products, quality, service and warranties.

But why you say Compaq are for noobs?
And do you think I could drive withou lags in 18k cc's track with this Compaq? 'cause I really liked this one, I have 2 or 3 friends with this compaq, but the version with a 15.6" of screen, and the compaq I mentioned above haves 17.3" 8o it's new...
And one of my friends plays 2k cc's track with PC3, a thing that is impossible with this crap Acer I have...

Tec, that Samsung is "indisponivel" (means unavailable in portuguese) on Worten... And I want to buy the laptop on that store 'cause I can pay in ten interest-free :rolleyes: 'cause the finacial crisis, it's better for me in this moment...
But it looks better than the Compaq...

When I was searching info about the graphic cards and the gaming, I found this site... I thought very interesting and acquire some more knowledege about this theme... And I realized that what I need is laptop that costs more than 1000

I want a laptop 'cause i'm never very much time in the same place... My home it's really just to sleep ^^ and to the weekend (near the beach hehe) because it's in the vacinity of Oporto, I study in Oporto, my parents' job is in Oporto, my girlfriend's house is in Oporto... So, or I am in my parents' job (it's a cafe), or in my aunt's house (near the cafe), or in the school, or in my girlfriend's house...
That's why I need a portable computer, a normal computer it wouldn't be much usefull...

But, what do you think about this Toshiba?

I think that one looks ok, maybe the screen is a tad too little for hardcore gaming, but it makes it more portable (those with 17" has so much to carry...)

and if it gets slow over the years you can upgrade it to an SSD hard drive

My first Laptop that I wanted was a Compaq with 17.3", but the graphics card was a crap... :\

And I'm very happy with it, I already played some big RPGs, and I can play in PC3 with no lags!!! :O
